Cosmetic Surgery Cost

If you have avoided cosmetic surgery because you are unsure if you want to invest in it, it is time to take a second look. When you consider the quality of the procedure and the satisfaction you will feel when you look in the mirror, cosmetic surgery can have a tremendous value for our patients. cosmetic surgeon Dr. Basil Pakeman is pleased to deliver high quality, high value services to his patients throughout New York.

Take time to do your Research

Never rush into cosmetic surgery. Take as much time as you need to understand the details of your desired procedure and the qualifications of your cosmetic surgeon. An informed patient with realistic expectations and clear goals is our best client.

Considering Your Surgeon's Qualifications as well as Cost

No matter what cosmetic procedure you are interested in, whether it is liposuction, abdominoplasty, breast augmentation, or facial plastic surgery, a board-certified surgeon should be your first choice. Board certification means the surgeon has demonstrated expertise, knowledge and skill in a certain medical field. Dr. Pakeman is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and by Canada's Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. When comparing cosmetic surgeons, consider the following:

  • Certifications and memberships held by the surgeon
  • The doctor's licensure and medical record
  • The surgeon's level of experience
  • The quality of the facility in which you undergo your procedure

When your health and appearance are on the line, cutting corners to get what looks like a better deal does not make sense. And as with many things in life, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

What about Insurance?

Because cosmetic surgery is usually elective, insurance typically does not provide coverage. However, some procedures may be considered medically necessary in certain cases like reconstructive surgery. Certain eye procedures such as cataract surgery are sometimes covered under certain health plans. Check with your insurance company to find out what your policy does and does not cover. We accept certain insurance plans, including Medicare, and we can help you determine what your policy will or will not cover. We cannot guarantee your insurance will cover anything, and you are responsible for full payment upon the conclusion of your treatment.
